Windowed Mode? Try these
If you've been trying to get these games to run in windowed mode and are having a hard time, look at this forum thread for two suggestions: D3DWindower and DXWnd.
Please post success (and horror!) stories if any of you try these programs out! Of course, you can also post alternative programs/tricks that have worked for you. Happy gaming!

Heya! Thanks for the links, D3DWindower, after a bit of research works great for some games Dungeon Siege, but only if you select the /app/ .exe, Quake runs well, Fallout, I assume Diablo will run, haven't checked yet. I got d3dwindower to run by opening it, selecting the game using the "+" icon, selecting "d3dhook.dll" in the D3DWindower folder for the "dll", and setting the visuals to 640x480. I love your site. It keeps work interesting.
Easy to make Dungeon Siege windowed. Just add "fullscreen=false" to the target line, no quotes.
To play Baldurs Gate Tales of Swordcoast portable windowed mode is easy too:
in the directory where the game is located, go to:
App\BGtOS
there will be a .ini named "baldur.ini", open it.
In the last line, type these words:
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1
Now you can play Baldurs Gate windowed mode (Im almost certain this work with Baldurs Gate II too!!). You just have to type:
alt + enter
when you open the game, and voila! you can type alt + enter again to return to fullscreen..
Arrivederci!
Anyone have any luck getting Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete to run in windowed mode?
